Double T Equipment Ltd.
putting ideas to work around the world! - By Tim Callaway
July 19, 2002

Airdrie, AB, based Double T Equipment Ltd. has made remarkable progress since 1976 when Thomas Thomas first began fixing farm machinery from the back of his pickup truck!

Today, Double T ships customized equipment and intellectual capital around the world enhancing an established reputation as a developer and manufacturer of a full line of mushroom growing equipment for tray and net mushroom farms.

As busy as this component of the company s expertise keeps it, Double T Equipment does far more! Aerobic composting systems for municipal, commercial and agricultural organic waste materials, conveyor systems for ore and fertilizer, bulk storage facilities and a wide range of other custom equipment are just a few of the products and services the company offers.

"We re not only a manufacturer, but also a designer and developer," explains Thomas. "We can take an idea from the conceptual stage to the point of full production. We may contract out various aspects of the project but when all is said and done, you'll be in business."

In other words, from planning, engineering design and prototyping through to manufacturing and installation, Double T is a full service provider. As a result, the firm has an internationally proven track record of technical innovation.

"In our line of work where no two projects are exactly alike and the design approach is rarely similar," Thomas says, "we offer flexibility, responsiveness and solid commitment. We've designed and built foam recycling systems, bulk material handling units, self-propelled windrow turners, explosive magazines, turnkey mushroom farms, rail/truck inload and outload systems, blending and storage systems and equipment for uindustries as diverse as furniture building and rock wool processing."

Double T will continue its quest to be on the leading edge of industrial development.

"Recent outbreaks of mad-cow disease and similar diseases in other animals such as elk and deer present a whole new area of opportunity," Thomas adds. "Mortality composting turning animal carcasses into compost it's yet another area we're active in where we think we can capitalize on our expertise."
